Accommodation
Homestay
At a homestay you live in a private home as a paying guest. Your host provides you with meals, and you will have your own private bedroom. Homestay students tend to improve their English more quickly because they speak it daily with their hosts. All the Auckland homestay hosts have been police checked and are carefully chosen to provide a warm, caring and safe atmosphere.
Student residences
Student Residence housing is located at Empire Apartments, where you can live in an apartment shared with other students. It has excellent facilities and is within walking distance of Taylors College Auckland. Living with other students is a great way to make friends and enjoy student life. Each shared apartment has three bedrooms and a shared living area for cooking and relaxing.
Independent housing
If you are over the age of 18 you can choose to live in independent housing with friends or on your own. Living in independent housing with friends can be a fun way to save money as you will be sharing the cost of a house or apartment, and enjoying your studies alongside people your own age. You can view available houses and apartments to rent by visiting TradeMe.co.nz.
Visa
You will need to have a current student visa for the programme in which you are enrolled while you are a student in New Zealand. To apply for a student visa in your home country before leaving for New Zealand, you can apply via Immigration New Zealand (INZ).
