College of Rockies

College of the Rockies Canada is a Government of Canada funded public community college located in the province of south east of British Columbia. It was founded by James Patterson in 1975. The College possesses British Columbia Education Quality Assurance Designation.

The main campus is situated in Cranbrook and regional campuses are Invermere, Fernie, Creston, Golden and Kimberly. Admission at College of the Rockies are provided to approximately 2100 students including around 200 international students from more than 30 countries each year. There are several specialty programs most of which focus on Adult Basic Education.

Thousands of dollars in Bursaries and Scholarships are available to students who are either entering College of the Rockies for the first time, or are currently enrolled in a full-time program.

There are two main types of financial awards: Scholarships and Bursaries

  • Bursaries are awards based on financial need and reasonable academic standing.
  • Scholarships are awards to a student to help finance further education based on academic merit or excellence in the area to which the award pertains

  • Grades (minimum over 50% – second division)
  • IELTS score (6.0 minimum overall, 6.0 in reading, 6.0 writing, 5.5 in listening, 5.5 in speaking)
  • Finances (MUST be eligible for an EDUCATION loan or GIC)
  • Previous applications (can NOT have been refused for a study permit in the past)
  • Only two years of Gap.
  • Maximum 8 backlogs.
