Cumberland College

Cumberland College is a regional college based in Melfort, Nipawin and Tisdale, Saskatchewan that provides post-secondary education in the north east region of the province. Cumberland College was founded as Cumberland Community College by the Province of Saskatchewan in 1974, with the first slate of courses being offered in the fall of 1975. It was renamed Cumberland Regional College in 1988 to coincide with a new mandate under the Regional Colleges Act (1986) and an increased regional reach. Around 2008 the College attained its current name. The College primarily serves the education and training needs of communities and industry partners in northeast Saskatchewan.



Scholarship


The Cumberland Promise Scholarships are awarded to students who hold a University parallel associate degree from a regionally accredited institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Cumberland Promise recipients may be eligible for a scholarship up to $16,000.Institutional scholarships and grants are awarded on an academic year basis. Cumberland University defines an academic year as 32 weeks consisting of a fall and spring semester. Institutional aid is only available during the academic year. Students wishing to enroll in classes during a summer semester should check with the Financial Aid Office to determining eligibility for any federal or state financial aid including student loans.

  1. Must be a graduation from an accredited high school. All students must submit English translated official transcripts of all secondary work.
  2. All international students must submit their transcripts to a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) for translation, evaluation, and to provide a cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. Our students most commonly use World Educational Services (WES), Global Credential Evaluators (GCE), or Josef Silny & Associates, Inc
  3. All students must provide documentation of the required immunizations. For more details regarding current immunization requirements, kindly contact the Office of Admissions.
  4. All international students are required to pay an international fee of $75 each semester.
