DBS continues to grow and build on its reputation as Ireland's leading independent college. July 2007 saw the College’s acquisition of Portobello College. The amalgamation of the two institutions creates Ireland's largest independent third level institution with a student population of more than 9,000 and an ability to deliver over 100 accredited programmes. €500 - €1000 PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Partial scholarships are available to students coming onto Level 8 and Level 9 programmes only.  When a successful candidate pays an acceptance fee within 30 days of receiving the Confirmed Offer from the College, the following partial scholarships can be awarded to the student depending on the level of the programme he/she applies for:

€500 off level 6 programme (with the exception of Certificate in Business & English Language)

€500 off level 7 programme

€500 off level 8 programme

€1000 euro off level 9 programme

Refer A Friend

The International Student Referral Scheme is now open to all students at Dublin Business School whom refer a new full-time non-EU student to the College. If the candidate you refer is successful in their application and begins a programme at Dublin Business School, we will reward you with a payment of €500 if the referred student is residing in Ireland or €300 if the student is residing overseas.

Accommodation


Homestay accommodation are situated in the suburbs of Dublin and will generally be 30 to 60 minutes travel time from Dublin city centre. If you choose this type of accommodation you will have either a shared or single bedroom in the family home, and take meals with the family. Long and short term Homestay accommodation can be organised for you. The cost is €740 for four weeks, inclusive of meals.

Private Student Residences

Various private student residences are available throughout the city which offer facilities and services specifically designed for students: accommodation is in self-catering fully-furnished houses/ flats including a number of single and sometimes double bedrooms, a shared bathroom and living/ kitchen area. Each bedroom is equipped with free Internet access.

Independent Arrangements

Rent or Share

Each year, students at Dublin Business School locate and secure their own accommodation. These are all to let or to share, and can be long-term and short-term.

Students also can contact letting agencies. You can also find various addresses on: www.goldenpages.ie and www.independent.ie.

Hostels

Hostels addresses can be found through www.goldenpages.ie and online bookings can be made through www.hostelworld.com. Many Dublin hostels are centrally located and within walking distance of the college.

Visa


The Irish Student Visa regulations permit students to study, work and live in Ireland for up to 7 years which includes the right to work in casual employment part-time (20 hours per week) when studying and full-time (40 hours per week) when academic break during their studies.

Additionally there is also a Third Level Graduate Scheme. 

Qualifications will be granted a period of residence in the State, the lesser of either, twelve months or such period as would bring their overall time resident in the State (i.e. time spent on Stamp 2 as a student and on Stamp 1G under this programme) to seven years in total.

Graduates with an award at Level 9 or above on the National Framework of Qualifications qualify for the Programme will be granted permission for twenty-four months to a maximum of eight years’ student permission overall (i.e. time spent on Stamp 2 as a student and on Stamp 1G under this programme cannot exceed an aggregate time of eight years in total).
