Radboud University Nijmegen

Radboud University is a public Roman Catholic university with a strong focus on research located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Established in 1923, Radboud University has consistently been included in the top 150 of universities in the world by four major university ranking tables. The university is located on a green campus in the southern Heyendaal neighbourhood of Nijmegen. This campus houses 7 faculties that conduct teaching and research in Arts, Law, Management, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Theology, Philosophy and Religious Studies. In addition to these faculties, the campus also hosts the Max Plank Institute for Psycholinguistics, a word class research centre devoted to the understanding of human language and communication. Radboud University has seven faculties and enrols over 22.000 students in 112 study programs (46 bachelor's and 75 master's programs).

As of September 2019, the university offers 36 international master's programs taught in English and several more taught in Dutch. There are nine bachelor's programs taught fully in English: American Studies, Artificial Intelligence, Biology, Chemistry, Computing Science, International Economics & Business, International Business Administration, English Language and Culture, Philosophy, Politics and Society and Molecular Life Sciences. International Business Communication, History, Psychology and Arts and Culture Studies offer English-language tracks. All other bachelors are in Dutch, although most of the required literature is in English.


Scholarship


The Radboud Scholarship Programme is very selective and is only intended for talented students who have obtained outstanding study results and are highly motivated to pursue a Master's degree programme at Radboud University.The scholarship will be used to reduce your tuition fee to € 2,143 and pays for costs for visa and insurance. For example: a grant holder in 2020/2021 will pay a tuition fee of only €2,143, instead of €11,471 or €12,645. In addition, the Radboud Scholarship also covers costs such as those for visa, residence permit, health insurance and liability insurance for your stay in the Netherlands (Aon Student Insurance).

Eligibility criteria


A Dutch VWO-diploma;

An International Baccalaureate diploma;

A European Baccalaureate diploma, with at least the course English Language 2 or Language 1;

A diploma equivalent to or higher than the Dutch VWO level by completing an English-taught educational programme at an institution in one of the member states of the EU/EEA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the United States, where the language of instruction has been English.

If you don't meet the above mentioned language conditions, you must satisfy one of the following minimum requirements:


A TOEFL iBT total score of ≥80, all four sub-scores ≥20;

An IELTS Academic overall score of ≥6.0, all four sub-scores ≥6.0;

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), with a mark of C or higher;

A TOEIC test score of ≥785 and modules 'Speaking and Writing' and 'Listening and Reading' completed successfully.


Accommodation


Most students in Nijmegen live in student complexes and student houses, share an apartment or rent a room in a house with a landlady or landlord. All rooms are private rooms (without roommates), but usually the kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared. The large majority of the accommodation offered is mixed accommodation, which means men and women live in the same corridor and (if applicable) share the facilities. A few women-only corridors are offered as well. The rent for these rooms can run up to €500 per month or more. However, rental prices of most rooms are between €370 and €470 per month.
